Equestrian Finishes in Fourth at Roger Williams Show

TIVERTON, R.I. – Brown University equestrian logged three second-place individual finishes as part of a fourth place team effort at the Roger Williams University IHSA Show on Saturday at Nora Harris Equestrian.

In the first show of the month of November, Brown totaled 26 points for fourth, placing behind Johnson & Wales (38 points), the University of Rhode Island (30), and Becker (29) while topping Roger Williams (16) and six other schools.

Saturday's show served as a point rider show with RWU allowing for one rider per school per division.

Freshman Hannah Guevara (Pasadena, Calif.), junior captain Victoria Flagg (Great Falls, Va.), and sophomore Wallace Douglas (Ipswich, Mass.) led the Bears with second-place showings in intermediate fences, intermediate flat, and walk-trot-canter respectively.

Senior captain Kabisa Baughen (Sarasota, Fla.) came in third in open fences while junior captain Sara Nordstrom (Medina, Wash.) posted a fourth-place finish in open flat.

In novice fences junior Anna Seto (Barrington, R.I.) came in fifth, in novice flat freshman Jordan Hanson (Berkeley, Calif.) placed sixth, and in walk-trot senior Casey Fisher (Oro Valley, Ariz.) finished in fifth.

In the regional standings, Brown stands in third place with 144 points. Rhode Island leads the region with 165 points, and Johnson & Wales ranks second with 150 points.

Next, Brown competes at the University of Rhode Island IHSA Show on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Mystic Valley Hunt Club in Gales Ferry, Conn.
