  • Brown Places Third Overall at 2012 IHSA Nationals

    Head coach Michaela Scanlon and the Brown Equestrian team had an impressive performance at the 2012 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Nationals, out-scoring 15 other teams to finish third overall in the country with 17 points. St. Lawrence won the show with 31 points, while Skidmore finished second with 24.

    Head coach Michaela Scanlon and the Brown Equestrian team are ready for the 2012 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championship in Raleigh, N.C., May 3-6. Five riders are headed to nationals after impressive performances at Zones just a few short weeks ago.
  • Brown Equestrian Wins Ivy League Show

    The Brown Equestrian team was strong from start to finish at the Ivy League Show and ended with a near-perfect 46-point team score (49 points are the maximum possible) topping Dartmouth, Columbia, Cornell, Penn, Princeton and Yale. Brown also earned six individual championship events.
  • Brown Equestrian Qualifies for Nationals at Zone Championships

    The Brown equestrian team faced the three other region winners, Holyoke, New Hampshire and Stonehill at the Zone Championships and placed second overall as a team, qualifying for Nationals. It took to the very end of the show, but Brown out-point UNH to claim the spot.
  • Brown Qualifies Three Riders For Zone Championships

    At the Regional Equestrian Finals Brown University boasted three riders who all qualified for the Zone Championships on April 7. The Bears will have representatives in the open flat, open fences, intermediate fences and walk trot canter. Brown was its region’s high-point college.
  • Brown Equestrian Clinches Region with Third Place Finish at Holy Cross Show

    Brown equestrian finished in a third-place tie at Holy Cross’s show in Hebron, Conn., and their 34 team points secured the region title for the Bears. Brown was able to hold off URI which will serve as the reserve school from the region.
  • Brown Equestrian Uses Comeback to Tie URI for First at UMass-Dartmouth Show

    The Brown equestrian team saw region rival URI jump out to an early lead at the UMass-Dartmouth show this past weekend, but the Bears roared back, tying the Rams in the second-to-last event of the day, helping to seal a first-place tie. Brown still leads URI in the overall region total for the year with just one show remaining in the regular season.

    The Brown equestrian team was in action for the first time in 2012, taking on its regional competition is a show hosted by URI. The Bears trailed early, but came from behind to register a second-place tie. Brown still maintains a 26-point lead over the Rams in season total tally.

    Brown fought its way to another first-place finish at the Johnson & Wales show this weekend, narrowly edging host JWU, by just one point. The Bears now stand in first place in their region with 250 team points, 31 ahead of second-place URI.
  • Brown Wins URI Show With 42 Points

    Despite cold conditions on Saturday, Brown was able to ride its way to a first-place finish at the Rhode Island University Show with 42 points. The strong showing helped the Bears take hold of first place in its region, holding a 27-point lead over second place Becker.
  • Bears Tie for First At Region Show

    In the Region Show at Windcrest Farm on Saturday, Brown rode to a first-place tie with Johnson & Wales, securing 36 points towards the season standings. The Bears are now 12 points ahead of second-place Rhode Island in the yearly, regional standings.
  • Brown Places Fifth at Roger Williams Show

    Facing tough weather conditions of rain, near-freezing temperatures and frequent downpours, and without IHSA horses, the Brown equestrian team battled to a fifth place finish at the Roger Williams Show. The Bears totaled 26 team points, and remain in first overall in the region, but are now tied with Rhode Island.
  • Brown Remains In Overall Points Lead After Third-Place Finish at Becker Show

    The Brown equestrian team headed north for the Becker College Show this past weekend and took third overall despite some tough horse draws and remain in the overall point lead for the region through three shows.
  • Brown Scores 49 Points at Home Show

    Brown had one its best shows in nearly 10 years as the team tallied 49 points for the win. The Bears have had just one 49-point show which came in 2002 at Weslayan. Bruno now leads its region by eight points after standing in sixth last week.
  • Brown Equestrian Finishes Sixth At First Show

    Brown equestrian competed in its first show of the 2011-12 season on Saturday, Oct. 8 and finished sixth overall with 23 points. The show was hosted by Johnson & Wales in Rehoboth, Mass.
