Brown Four-for-Four After Roger Williams Show

Newport, R.I. - Brown won its fourth show in a row this past weekend in an event that featured a ride off for high point rider between two Brown riders. Senior Elise Fishelson increased her lead in the Cacchione Cup to 12 points over Kayla Prefontaine from JWU and 14 points over Josh Corriveau from URI.

In open, the horses proved to be very feisty and strong.  In the first class, Dakota Gruener took on a tough horse named Blue and remained unfazed by the wild horse and pinned a third place finish. Point rider Fishelson drew a horse named Tigger, another strong chestnut and placed first to earn seven points for Brown.

In intermediate fences, Allison Dungey who pointed up from novice fences last week, rode a very steady, but conservative round and won the blue ribbon. In the next class, point rider Olivia Fialkow pinned third.
