PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After dominating the URI Show last week with 45 points (49 points is a perfect score) the Brown equestrian team used another strong showing to top nine other schools and win a second-straight show.
The day opened with the Open Flat where point rider senior Allegra Aron (Burlingame, Calif.) won the first class. The Bears also took the second class on a strong ride from senior Elise Fishelson (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.). In the Intermediate Flat junior Rebecca McGoldrick (Virginia Water, England) picked up Brown's third first place of the day, winning the second class.
In the Open Fences, senior Dakota Gruener (Berkeley, Calif.) and Aron went one-two in the first class. On the novice side, junior Anna Baker (Washington, D.C.) took the top position in the first class while point rider sophomore Allison Dungey (North Kingstown, R.I.) won the third class.
The Walk, Trot saw point rider sophomore Karolina Woroniecka (Great Neck, N.Y.) take second in the second class in a very close ride.
Brown finished with 33 points while JWU finished in second with 26. URI, who is second in the regional standings, came in third with 24 points. The Bears stand atop the regional rankings with 78 points, an 18-point advantage over URI.
