Lexington, KY - The Brown equestrian squad had a pair of riders place in the top-10 in the country at the IHSA National Championship over the weekend, as senior Liz Giliberti (Washington, DC) placed ninth in the Cacchione Cup standings and sophomore Rebecca McGoldrick (Virginia Water, UK) finished tenth in the Novice Flat. Giliberti's finish marked the second consecutive season that she has placed in the top-10 nationally.
On the first day of showing, Giliberti turned in an impressive ride in Phase 1 of the Cacchione Cup, earning a score of 84, seventh best on the afternoon. She then rode to another 84 the next day in Phase 2, but higher scores overall bumped her down to 12th after the second round. In the ride off, however, Giliberti capped off her career with an impressive performance, moving up to ninth in the final standings.
McGoldrick, riding in the Novice Flat, performed almost equally as well, beating a number of more experienced riders to take 10th in the country.
