    Equestrian Places Two in Top-10 at IHSA Nationals Lexington, KY - The Brown equestrian squad had a pair of riders place in the top-10 in the country at the IHSA National Championship over the weekend, as senior Liz Giliberti (Washington, DC) placed ninth in the Cacchione Cup standings and sophomore Rebecca McGoldrick (Virginia Water, UK) finished tenth in the Novice Flat. Giliberti's finish marked the second consecutive season that she has placed in the top-10 nationally.

    Brown Equestrian Rides to Third Place at Ivy League Championships Hanover, NH - The Brown equestrian squad rode to a third place finish at the Ivy League Championship over the weekend, finishing behind only Cornell and host school Dartmouth on a cold morning in Hanover. A number of Brown riders turned in strong performances, led by sophomore Marissa Fuerst, who was crowned the League Grand Champion in the Advanced Walk Trot Canter.

    Brown Equestrian Qualifies Three for IHSA Nationals Providence, RI – Though the Brown equestrian team narrowly missed qualifying for the IHSA Nationals as a team over the weekend, the Bears did have two riders place well enough to earn individual bids, joining senior Liz Giliberti (Washington, DC), who had already clinched a spot by winning the Cacchione Cup. Junior Katy Eng (New York, NY) and sophomore Rebecca McGoldrick (Virginia Water, England) placed in the top-two in the Novice Fences and Novice Flat respectively, earning trips to Kentucky for the national championships.

    Brown Equestrian Qualifies Four Riders for Zones A week after clinching a qualifying spot for Zones as a team, Brown equestrian turned in another good showing over the weekend, as four riders earned individual spots at Zones as well. Liz Giliberti, Allegra Aron, Rebecca McGoldrick, and Katie Eng each placed in the top two in their classes at the Regional Championships, advancing to Zones in the process.

Senior Liz Giliberti also had a notable individual day, placing first and fifth to take her second consecutive Cacchione Cup win and a spot at Nationals.

By staying close to the leaders though, the Bears maintained a 20-point advantage in the regional season standings with just one show to go, putting Bruno firmly in the driver’s seat.

The margin was slim enough to allow Brown to hold onto its season standings lead though, remaining ahead of URI by nine points with three shows remaining in the season.

The Bears were led by senior Elizabeth Giliberti, who took a first and third at the show, and regained the lead in the Cacchione Cup standings, which allows the top point rider in the region to go directly to Nationals.

Junior rider Allegra Aron led Bruno, picking up a pair of blue ribbons, and finishing third in the point rider standings on the day.
