



#43 Bears Defeat Buffalo, 6-1, and Providence, 5-0
February 3, 2012The #43 Brown women’s tennis team (4-1) improved to 4-1 with a pair of wins on Friday evening at the Pizzitola Center. The Bears defeated Buffalo (0-2), 6-1, and then earned a 5-0 win over cross-town rival Providence (3-2) College in a four-and-one match format (four singles and one doubles).

Brown Wrestling Picks up Ivy League Win Over Princeton
The Brown wrestling team picked up a 28-21 Ivy League win on Friday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center, defeating Princeton. The Bears came from behind, trailing 17-4 after five matches, but took the next three matches, all by pin, to take control of the dual. Bruno totaled five wins on the day.

Clarkson Tops Brown 4-3 in Overtime
Facing a 3-2 disadvantage at Clarkson late in the third quarter, the Brown women’s ice hockey team tallied the game-tying goal with just over four minutes remaining on the score by rookie Sarah Robson (Mississauga, Ontario). In overtime, it was Clarkson who came out on top however, netting the game-winning score on power play with 66 seconds remaining in the game.

Bears Can’t Recover From Sloppy First Period, Fall to Clarkson, 3-1
The visiting Golden Knights (13-11-5, 7-5-3) capitalized on a sloppy first period by the Bears (8-11-3, 5-8-2) to take a 2-0 first-period lead and then held on for a 3-1 win on Friday evening at Meehan Auditorium. After getting outshot in the opening 20 minutes by a 12-9 margin, Brown would outshoot Clarkson, 32-8 over the final 40 minutes, but the bounces did not fall, and Brown dropped its third straight game since defeating first-place Union on January 21st.
