Men’s Soccer Set to Take on North Carolina Tomorrow

Chapel Hill, NC- The Brown University men’s soccer team will take on No. 5 seed North Carolina at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow at Fetzer Field in the second round of NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Tournament. The Bears feature an 11-2-5 overall record, while host UNC owns a 13-2-3 record. North Carolina will have a free webcast of the game that will be available on TarHeelBlue.com.

Bears Set to Host Yale in ECAC Battle Tonight
After one non-league game on Tuesday night, Brown returns home this evening to host Yale in a single ECAC contest against its travel partner. Still in search of their first win of the season, the Bears are also in search of their first victory over the Bulldogs since December of 2006, as Yale has won nine straight games, including five last season. Brown is currently led by senior Jordan Pietrus, who has four goals in six games, while four other players have three points, including senior Aaron Volpatti, who has two goals and an assist.

Bears Fall To Columbia, 28-14, In Final Game
A once promising 2009 season ended in disappointment for the Brown football team, as the Bears dropped a 28-14 decision to Columbia at Wein Stadium in their final regular season game. Brown finished third in the Ivy League standings with a 4-3 league mark, 6-4 overall, while Columbia moves to 4-6 overall, 3-4 in league play.

St. John’s Hangs On For 79-76 Win Over Brown
The St. John’s Red Storm survived a furious Brown second half rally to hold on for a 79-76 win over the Bears at Carnesecca Arena in the Philly Hoop Group Classic. Junior Peter Sullivan scored 12 of his game high 17 points in the second half as the Bears mounted a fast-paced comeback and seemed to tire out the physical Red Storm team.
