Howell, Stillwell Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Men’s soccer junior forward Toby Howell and volleyball junior right-side hitter Sabrina Stillwell have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 4-10, Brown announced on Monday.

Junior forward Toby Howell scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift Brown to a 2-1 win over Holy Cross on Sunday. A native of Bradenton, Fla., and a transfer from Marquette University, Howell scored his first goal as a Bear, heading home the golden goal in the 96th minute against the Crusaders. Howell tallied an assist on Brown’s first goal in a 2-0 win over Quinnipiac on Friday, initiating the play with a ball out to the left side. He finished his first weekend of play at Stevenson-Pincince Field with three points. 

Sabrina Stillwell, Volleyball, Junior, Laguna Beach, Calif.
Junior right-side hitter Sabrina Stillwell recorded 36 kills (3.27 per set) on a .485 hitting percentage last week while earning Hampton Inn-vitational All-Tournament Team honors. A native of Laguna Beach, Calif., she landed 12 kills on .500 hitting against Stony Brook before posting eight kills on .727 hitting – the fourth highest hitting percentage in a single match in school history – in a 3-0 win over Manhattan. She closed the weekend with 16 kills on .400 hitting with four blocks at Bryant.
