PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Men’s basketball sophomore guard Brandon Anderson and women’s track & field senior Carly Paul have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Dec. 4-10, Brown announced on Monday.

Sophomore guard Brandon Anderson scored 19.5 points per game last week, helping Brown defeat UMass Lowell, 89-75, and push Providence to overtime. A native of Mahwah, N.J., Anderson hit 17-of-18 free throws (94.4 percent) over the two games. Against UMass Lowell on Sunday, he netted 20 points, hitting 12-of-12 shots from the charity stripe. At Providence on Wednesday, he posted 19 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Anderson leads the country with 91 total free throws made.
Carly Paul, Women’s Track & Field, Senior, Fort Collins, Colo.
Senior Carly Paul won three of five events as she captured first place at the URI Pentathlon at Mackal Field House. A native of Fort Collins, Colo., Paul racked up a personal best 3,883 points, breaking her previous top score by over 200 points, for second all-time in Brown history behind only Lindsay Taylor '01 (4,053) and eighth all-time in Ivy League history. Paul topped the field of 13 competitors and set personal bests in four events over the course of the meet, winning the high jump (5-10), shot put (33-1) and long jump (18-9.25).
