Goss, Morant Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Men’s lacrosse freshman goalie Phil Goss and women’s gymnastics senior Caroline Morant have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Mar. 13-19, Brown announced on Monday.

Freshman goalie Phil Goss made 11 saves in his first-ever Ivy League game to help lead Brown to a 13-8 win over Harvard in its Ivy opener on Saturday. A native of San Francisco, Calif., Goss recorded a .579 save percentage in the game. He made seven stops in the first half as the Bears took a 10-4 lead at halftime. 

Caroline Morant, Gymnastics, Senior, Chicago, Ill.
Senior Caroline Morant won ECAC Co-Gymnast of the Year and earned First Team All-ECAC on vault, bars, and floor as Brown placed third as a team at the 2017 ECAC Gymnastics Championship on Saturday. A native of Chicago, Ill., Morant won the floor title with a 9.875 and came in third on both bars (9.850), and vault (9.750), finishing in the top three on all three events in which she competed.
