Freshman Dayna Lord (Bloomfield, Conn.) rolled through a field of 126 players as the 25th seed to make it to the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regional singles semifinals. Lord is set to compete for the Regional championship on Tuesday, October 22.
Since last Thursday, Lord has defeated four opponents, including three Ivy League rivals. The first-year player took a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 win in her first match, then worked a pair of three-set victories over foes from Harvard and Dartmouth. Most recently, Lord earned a spot in the semifinals with a 6-3, 6-2 win over top-seeded Sol Eskenazi of Penn.
