Augustus Marker, Wrestling

With the Brown wrestling team trailing 16-9 with two bouts remaining, sophomore Augustus Marker (Castle Rock, Colo.) unleashed a crucial defensive fall at 197 to power Brown to an 18-16 win over Penn in its home opener at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Saturday. Marker’s clutch maneuver gave the Bears their first win over the Quakers in 20 years, dating back to the 1993-94 season.

On Saturday, Marker rebounded from an 8-3 defeat against Princeton to prevail 4-2 against Johnson & Wales, helping Brown secure a 33-15 win and finish the weekend with a 2-1 record.
