Freshman diver Rachel Speakman (Hudson, OH) was a double-event winner in the Brown swimming and diving team's first win of the new year, a 129-91 victory over the Providence College Friars. She earned her first collegiate victory in the 1-meter diving event with a season best score of 249.15, just under 20 points ahead of the Providence diver who finished in second place. Later in the afternoon, Speakman claimed top honors in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 227.35.
The Bears return to the pool on Saturday, January 19 when they take on both the Harvard Crimson and the Penn Quakers in a double-dual at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. Competition is scheduled to begin at 12:00pm.
