Michaela Prescott, Swimming & Diving

BrownBears.com will feature one former male and female student-athlete who has gone on to achieve success in the workplace, as well as exhibit the spirit of Brown University within the community. The installments will provide highlights of the selectees’ athletic careers at Brown and offer a glimpse into their current career paths.

Alumni Spotlight – Michaela Prescott ’00

A team captain on the Bears’ women’s swimming & diving team, Michaela Prescott ’00 still ranks in Brown’s top-25 with times for the 400 individual medley and the 200 breaststroke.

Prescott has worked for Google for almost 14 years and is currently the Senior Director of Brand Marketing at Google, the leading American multinational technology company. Prescott has a role in brand advertising and communications, demonstrating Google’s products and the positive impact they have on users.

She is responsible for running many cultural and social activations and programs, that include education, culture and the arts. A few of the educational programs include: Made with Code, Google Science Fair, Doodle 4 Google and Dynamic Learning Project. Google supports culture and the arts through activations around events or moments such as the Olympics, World Cup, Pride, International Women’s Day, Doodles, etc.

Prescott concentrated in Organizational Behavior and Management and after graduation in 2000 she was a Marketing Associate at the Corporate Executive Board. From there, Prescott spent two years with Ashoka, an international social entrepreneur group, as a Program Associate.
