2011 Fall Academic All-Ivy Announced
Providence, RI- The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.
MEN:
Sam Kernan-Schloss, Jr., Men’s Soccer,
Community Health & Economics (Arlington, Va.)
CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District Selection; helped Brown
reach Sweet 16; posted nine shutouts on the year; ranked second in
the Ivy League in goals against average and third in save
percentage.
Nate Lovett, Sr., Football, American History
(Providence, R.I.)
First-team All-Ivy; first-team All-New England; CoSIDA/Capital One
Academic All-District selection.
Dan Lowry, Sr., Men’s Cross Country,
Geology/Biology (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.)
Earned All-America status after finishing 26th at the 2011 NCAA
Cross Country Championships; first-team All-Ivy.
Rob Medairos, Sr., Men’s Soccer,
Neuroscience (Stafford, Va.)
First-team All-Ivy midfielder; started 18 games for the Ivy League
champion Bears; helped lead Brown to Sweet 16.
Svetozar Stefanovic, Jr., Men’s Water
Polo, International Relations (Belgrade, Serbia)
First-team All-East; Northern Division Player of the Year for the
third-straight season; led nation in scoring; broke his own
single-season record with 107 goals in 2011.
WOMEN:
Allison Kagawa, Sr., Women’s Soccer,
BioChemistry (Mililani, Hawaii)
Unanimous first-team All-Ivy; first-team All-NEWISA; helped team
post seven shutouts, second-best in League; started all 66 games in
four years, missing less than 50 minutes of time on the field
during her career.
Sarah Herbert-Seropian, Sr., Women’s
Soccer, Neuroscience (Voudreuil-Dorion, Quebec)
Honorable Mention All-Ivy; second-team CoSIDA/Capital One Academic
All-District; Team Captain; six points on two goals and two
assists, including two gamewinners (fifth in Ivy League).
Eliza Marshall, Jr., Women’s Soccer,
Political Science (North Andover, Mass.)
Honorable-mention All-Ivy; second-team CoSIDA/Capital One Academic
All-District; Bears’ leading scorer with 15 points on six
goals and three assists; seventh in the League in points, sixth in
goals and fifth with two gamewinners.
Bridget McNamara, Sr., Field Hockey, Political
Science (Bethesda, Md.)
Team captain; three-year starter; led team with three defensive
saves, second-best single-season mark in program history; ranks
fourth all-time at Brown with five defensive saves for her
career.
Megan Tuohy, Sr., Women’s Golf,
Neuroscience (Indianapolis)
Team Captain and four-year starter; In the last 50 rounds, Tuohy's
score has counted 50 times; Was Brown's top finisher at the Yale
Invitational (14th out of 78) and placed fifth at the Lehigh
Invitational.
