2016 Fall Academic All-Ivy Selections Announced

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University had 10 student-athletes garner Academic All-Ivy accolades in an announcement made by the Ivy League on Thursday.  The five men and five women were key contributors to their respective fall teams with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Senior Carly Gould (Hampton Falls, N.H.) of women's soccer earned the honor for the second consecutive season.

MEN
Richard "Dewey" Jarvis | Football | Senior | Watertown, Mass. | Biology
- Named First Team All-Ivy and First Team All-ECAC ... Selected to the All-New England Football Team ... Led the Ivy League in tackles for loss (18.5) and ranked third in sacks (7.5).

Matt Mahoney | Cross Country | Junior | Swampscott, Mass. | Neuroscience 
- Finished second at the New England Championships ... Named Hepstrack Runner of the Week (Oct. 11) ... Placed fourth at the Battle in Beantown.

James Myall | Soccer | Junior | St. Charles, Ill. | Computational Biology
- Played in and started 14 games as a defensive midfielder ... Team co-captain.

William Twyman | Football | Senior | Sudbury, Mass. | Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations    
- Named First Team All-Ivy and First Team All-ECAC ... Selected to the All-New England Football Team ... Led the Bears in tackles (96) and interceptions (4).

Luke Weiser | Water Polo | Senior| Los Alamitos, Calif. | Chemistry
- Named Northeast Water Polo Conference Player of the Year ... Selected First Team All-NWPC ... Three-time NWPC Defensive Player of the Week.


WOMEN
Beth Clifton | Rugby | Junior | Attleboro, Mass. | Applied Mathematics-Biology
- Recorded points in six out of seven games ... Registered 22 points in a win over Yale.

Carly Gould | Soccer | Senior | Hampton Falls, N.H. | Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations   
- Named First Team All-Ivy and All-America Division I Third Team ... Garnered a spot in the NEWISA Senior Bowl ... Selected First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region ... Led the Bears in points (12), goals (4), assists (4) and game-winnings goals (3) ... Tri-captain.

Lucy Green | Field Hockey | Senior | Providence, R.I. | Economics
- Named Second Team All-Ivy ... Started all of the Bears' 17 games, finishing the season with 15 points on seven goals and one assist ... Tallied two game-winning goals.

Payton Smith | Volleyball | Senior | Atherton, Calif. | American Studies and Literary Arts
- Named Second Team All-Ivy ... Finished her career as the all-time leader in hitting percentage (.287) ... Averaged a team-high 2.23 kills per set (205 overall) ... Ranked second on the team in blocks (73) ... Tri-captain.

Taylor Worthy | Cross Country | Junior | Medfield, Mass. | Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations
- Finished fourth and was selected First Team All-Ivy at the Heptagonal Championships ... Finished 13th overall at the NCAA Northeast Regionals ... Finished 20th out of 405 at Paul Short Run.
