Brown Athletics Unveils Brown Bears Sports Properties As Its Dedicated Corporate Sponsorship Sales Unit

PROVIDENCE, R.I.– Brown University Athletics, in conjunction with Learfield Sports, has developed Brown Bears Sports Properties as its exclusive corporate sponsorship sales unit, as announced today by Director of Athletics Jack Hayes. This dedicated unit is designed to support Brown Athletics’ initiative to enhance the service provided to local and regional businesses and further promote the Brown brand affinity to the corporate community.

Leading Brown Bears Sports Properties is General Manager Augusto “Cookie” Rojas, who most recently served eight years as general sales manager for the Pawtucket Red Sox and taught sports management for nearly five years at Johnson & Wales University. Nelligan Sports Marketing, Brown Athletics’ former marketing partner, was acquired by Learfield Sports in early February. Brown Bears Sports Properties will office on campus, which will allow a close working relationship with the entire Brown Athletics administration. The property manages all aspects of the multimedia rights including venue signage, event sponsorships/marketing, corporate hospitality, radio game broadcasts and coaches’ shows, television and digital sponsorships, including the official athletic website

Brown Sports Radio Network To Broadcast Winter Sports

The Brown University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, in conjunction with JMR Communications, is launching an ambitious radio broadcast schedule this winter that includes the entire 27-game men's basketball schedule, plus 28 additional winter events as part of the Brown Sports radio Network.

The Brown men's basketball team is one of the leading contenders for the Ivy League championship after posting a 15-12 overall record last year, finishing third in the Ivy standings with a 9-5 mark, and playing for the Ivy title on the last weekend of the season. WARL-AM1320 will broadcast 23 of the men's basketball games, with WSKO-AM790, The Score, broadcasting four Friday night games throughout the season.

All of the men's basketball games, with the exception of the four games broadcast on WSKO 790 The Score, can be listened to live on the internet, and accessed through .

The winter sports broadcast schedule will cover selected men's ice hockey, women's basketball and women's ice hockey games, and will be aired completely on WOON-AM1240. The Brown men's ice hockey team will initiate the broadcast schedule on Saturday, November 3rd against Harvard in Cambridge, Mass. All of these games will be available on the internet through .

The Winter broadcast team will include Jeff Dooley, Brian Morry, Mike Rubin, Jack Shamshoian, Mike Mancuso, Mike Lyons, and The Score's Scott Cordischi, who will provide the play-by-play commentary for all games on WSKO, 790 AM.
