Katelin Whittemore was one of Brown’s top swimmers during the 1980’s. During her freshman year, she broke the school record in the 1,000 and 1,650-yard freestyle. While at Brown, Katelin won many honors. As a junior and a senior she won the 500 freestyle and the 400 individual medley at the Easterns. She was selected All-Ivy all four years. She was also selected All-East four years. A co-captain in her senior year, she received the Marjorie B. and H. Stanton Smith Award for outstanding sportsmanship, leadership and upholding the image as a student-athlete and the Arlene Gorton Sportsmanship Award for outstanding leadership and sportsmanship. After a brief stint with IBM as an account marketing rep, Katelin is currently a candidate for her MBA at Harvard, which she will receive next June. She has also been active outside of school serving as a chairperson for the American Red Cross HIV/AIDS Task Force. Katelin and her husband, Scott, reside in West Newton.
