Donald J. Warburton '59 was one of three Brown men named to the All-Ivy Team of the Decade. One of Brown's most outstanding linebackers, Warburton was also an aggressive offensive center who could clear the way downfield for his backs. During his three years of varsity play, the Pawtucket native was the man around whom the defenses were built. Warburton was great at diagnosing plays and had the speed to capitalize on these quick reactions. As captain of the fine 1959 team, Warburton worked at the responsibilities of leadership, being the first man on the practice field and the last to leave. The 210-pound pivotman was All-Ivy in both his junior and senior years, and gained All-East recognition.
