Mike Waitkus came to Brown from New York City where he was chosen a member of the All-City Team. Arriving at Brown, Mike became a "take charge guy" at point guard for Coach Mike Cingiser's team and brought a great deal of pleasure to the fans at old Marvel Gym. In 1982-83, Mike was chosen Ivy League Rookie-of-the-Year, and also 2nd Team All-Ivy in 1983 and 1986. He was also tri-captain on the 1985-86 Ivy Championship Team. Mike currently resides in Hong Kong with his wife, Debby Lynn. He is the regional manager of Southeast Asia for the American International Underwriters, overseeing property insurance for Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, the Philippines, Guam, Micronesia and Korea.
