Angelo J. Sinisi ’61 came upon the Brown sports scene like a bombshell. In his sophomore season, he won the indoor championships of the IC4A and Heptagonals in the 60-yard high hurdles in 7.2, a Brown record. The native of West New York, NJ, capped his first year of varsity competition by becoming Brown’s first double winner in the history of the outdoor Heptagonals, taking both the 120 and 220 high hurdles. That same spring he also did a 14.5 for the 120 high hurdles, to tie the New England record for this event. During Brown’s 5-3 spring season in 1959, Sinsi had 18 firsts and nine seconds, finishing with 124 points, believed to have been a dual meet record at the time. He also repeated as New England champion in 1960 and 1961 in the 120 hurdles, lowering his record in that event to 14.4. He is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. He’s now national sales manager with Speakman Company, Wilmington, Delaware.
