Edward North Robinson '96 enters Brown's Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach. The 6-1, 190-pound rawboned fullback ranks second only to Dave Fultz '98 in career touchdowns with 25 and is eleventh on the all-time scoring list with 100 career points. An outstanding athlete, Robinson won nine letters in football, baseball and track. He played on the 1896 baseball team, winners of the national championship. Between 1898 and 1925, Robbie coached 24 Brown football teams, including a consecutive run from 1910 until his retirement in 1925. He had a 140-82-12 record for a .624 percentage, and his teams outscored the opposition 3,521 to 1,823. Robbie was an innovator on both offense and defense but, more important, he was loved by the thousands of boys who played for him. He was elected to the National Football Hall of Fame in 1955.
