Harry Platt '40
Year Inducted: 1971
Harry Platt '40 holds the Brown record for most points scored in one game with 48 and most field goals in one game with 21, both set against Northeastern on Feb. 2, 1938. The 6-3 pivotman gained national prominence that year when he scored 406 points for an average of 21.4 points per game. His average was second highest in the country and in total points he ranked third nationally. As a junior, Platt led Brown to a 21-4 record and participation in the first NCAA tournament. Platt was also a fine playmaker and an outstanding defenseman, one who normally put a blanket on such stars of his day as Chet Jaworski of URI and Gus Broberg of Dartmouth. Captain in his senior year, Platt ended his career with 866 points, then a Brown record.
