Bill Perry came to Brown after being a two-way starter on Fairfield Prep's football team, where he achieved all-state and all-county honors on Prep's championship team. Originally recruited by John Anderson, he played four years under John Rosenberg. During his senior year, the Bears were 7-3, the best record since 1977. In 1987 he was an honorable mention All-American. Bill was a defensive leader and in 1986 and 1987 he was named All-Ivy First Team as a defensive tackle. In his junior year, he made first team All-Ivy, having played in only 4 of the 7 Ivy games. During the Brown-Harvard game in 1986 Bill blocked a punt which turned the game around and started a Brown comeback that led to victory. In 1991 Bill received the Joslin award, which is awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Brown football. Bill and his wife Rosalie, reside in Franklin, MA. Currently, he is a senior vice president with Putnam Investments.
