Kristen came to Brown from the Friends School in Baltimore, Maryland, the hotbed of lacrosse.
She established herself as a freshman, becoming a top-notch defensive player. Although a defensive player, she was chosen Brown’s rookie-of-the-year. As a sophomore, she was not only Brown’s most outstanding defensive player, but she was selected to the All-Ivy second team. She was also an honorable mention IWCLA All-American.
In 1986, she was once again Brown’s outstanding defensive player and made All-Ivy first team as well as IWCLA second team All-American.
As a senior, Kristen captained her team, and her dedication and leadership were again recognized both in the Ivy League and nationally. She was selected to the All-Ivy first team, as well as a second team IWCLA All-American. Although it is difficult to gain recognition as a defensive player, Kristen’s outstanding play was recognized by the opposition as well as her coaches and teammates.
Currently, Kristen is at home caring for her daughter, Kelsey. After Brown, Kristen obtained her MBA from the University of North Carolina. Most recently, she was director of operations at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. She is married to Todd Murray ’87 (a member of the 1986 Ivy Championship basketball team) and they reside in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
