Mircea Morariu came to Brown from Boca Raton, Florida. Currently, he is a third-year resident in neurology at Georgetown University Medical Center, having graduation from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1995.
While at Brown, Mircea won 47 singles matches while only losing 10. As a freshman he was 14-2, sophomore year 10-2. Junior year he was selected All-Ivy, and he was All-Ivy as a senior while going 12-0. His senior year he was voted Player of the Year in the Eastern region and wont on to represent Brown in the singles and doubles at the NCAA Tournament.
Mircea and his team defeated Harvard and Princeton for the first time in Brown’s tennis history, while also defeating West Virginia, a top 20 team. He feels the most significant part of his Brown athletic experience was being able to share the highs and lows of competition with his team.
Mircea’s parents were also physicians, while his sister, Corina, is a professional tennis player currently ranked in the top 100 in the world. Mircea resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
