Defenseman Michael Mastrullo was a quiet mainstay on the 1976Bruin hockey team that won the Ivy championship and finished inthird place in the NCAA's. That was a year when everyone's eyeswere on the offense, with speedy forwards Bill Gilligan and BobMcIntosh breaking scoring records. But Mastrullo played well enoughto make honorable mention All-Ivy that year, and went on to makesecond team All-Ivy in 1977 and 1978, and first team All-Ivy,All-East, and second team All-American in his senior year. Hescored fourteen goals and seventy-six assists (90 points) over hisfour year career at Brown. After graduating, Mastrullo signed acontract with the Atlanta Flames of the NHL and played for a yearin that team's farm system. He played one season in Holland(1980-81), and is currently playing hockey in Italy. He was amember of the Italian team that participated in the 1984Olympics.
