William Margeson '37

William Margeson ’37 was the super star of Brown soccer. In his senior season, Margeson was the driving force as the Bruins went through an undefeated season (6-0-2) and captured the New England Soccer League title. His 12 goals were tops in the league, doubling the total of his nearest rival. Margeson scored the three-goal hat trick as Brown defeated Yale, 3-1, in 1936, the first soccer victory over the Blue. Brown’s star center forward also had the hat trick against both Clark and Tufts that season. Margeson, who shares Brown’s all-time single-season scoring record, earning All-East recognition his senior year.
