Ginny Tom Lee ’88

Ginny Tom ’88 became the second player in Brown volleyball history to earn first team All-Ivy honors (1984) and is Brown’s first three-time first team All-Ivy selection. She is only the second volleyball player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
As a freshman, Tom collected second-team All-Ivy honors for her performance in the Ivy League tournament. She also was named to the All-Tournament Team at both the Marine Midland Tournament at Syracuse, and the Northeastern Tournament. She has also participated in both the Asian Games and the strong San Francisco Summer League.
Tom was co-captain of the Bears her senior year and was dubbed in the team brochure as “the best player ever to don a Brown uniform.” She earned the Brunonia Award in 1987 and was also awarded the Susan Clover Rosenberger Prize in 1988 for academic excellence in athletics.
Tom was selected to the Ivy League Silver Anniversary Volleyball Team in 1999 during the Ivy League Women’s Championships Silver Anniversary Symposium.
Tom graduated with honors from Brown with a dual major in Business Economics and Organizational Behavior and Management. She went on to get her MBA from Stanford.
She played for the North American Chinese Invitational Volleyball Tournament for 15 years, traveling throughout the United States and Canada. She competed in annual Labor Day Tournaments comprising of 30+ women’s teams from all across the world. Her team placed second for 8 out of the 15 years, with Tom earning various MVP and All-Star awards.
Tom has worked for Intuit, a software/internet company for the past seven and a half years. She is currently the Vice President of Business Operations and is responsible for operating Intuit’s business strategies via process and technology infrastructure.
Tom is a member of both the Latin School Alumni Association and the Stanford Business School Alumni Association.
Tom and her husband, Dan Lee, have two children, Jessica (5), and Brian (6 months).
