Year Inducted: 1971
J. Dana Eastham ’53, a wrestler who thrilled the fans with his amazing speed and his nonchalance on the mat, lost only one match in dual competition during his varsity career. His final record was 35-1, including 25 victories on pins. Eastham arrived from Andover, where he also had lost only one match. Wrestling normally at 157, Eastham also worked two other classes, making him especially valuable to Coach Ralph Anderton. He won the AAU title twice, was a finalist in the Easterns and was second in his class in the Olympic trials in 1952. In 1953, Eastham became Brown wrestling's first-ever All-American by placing fourth at the NCAA Championships.
