"Whether it's football, studies, job or everyday living, the goal is to keep striving and working to be better." - Larry Carbone '81

This is the attitude that made Brown's Larry Carbone one of the greatest option quarterbacks that has ever played for the Bears. An intense and dedicated athlete, Carbone was constantly striving to be the best whether it was on the gridiron or the baseball diamond. A two-year starter and co-captain in football as a senior, Carbone put 110% into all aspects of his career at Brown. A lefty, Carbone was a deadly weapon from the pocket or on the run. As a junior he earned second-team All-Ivy honors and led the League in total offense with 198.3 yards per game. As Carbone entered his senior year, coach John Anderson predicted: "He has great football sense and should be one of the top quarterbacks in the East." Carbone proved the prophesy right when he led the ECAC Division I schools in total yards and garnered All-Ivy, All-New England and honorable mention All-America honors at the end of the season. Today Carbone's name still dots the records books as a testimony to his contribution to Brown athletics. Larry is a district sales manager for Abbott Laboratories. He and his wife Stacie live in Moreno Valley, California.
