Tim Bruno was a New Jersey high school all-stater in the shotput and the discus. He was recognized nationally in the 35-lb weight throw and the hammer. Track and Field News voted him All-American in the hammer and the 35-lb weight throw. In 1976 and again in 1977, Tim was named to the U.S. Junior National Teams and competed against the Russian and German national teams.

At Brown, under the guidance of former field coach Bob Narcessian, Tim continued to excel. He was named All-Ivy and All-East seven times and All-American four times. In 1979, he won the hammer throw championship, with his entire fraternity cheering for him. Tim still holds the school records in the hammer and 35-lb weight throw.

Tim has worked for Barboza Enterprises for fourteen years, handling bank financing. This company owns seven auto dealerships in southeastern New England. Tim and his wife, Denise, live in Assonet, Massachusetts, with their four daughters – Jacqueline, Ericka, and twins Alexandra and Nicole.
