Compliance involves adhering to all aspects of NCAA, Ivy League, ECAC and University rules and regulations. The Compliance Department within Brown University Athletics coordinates the University’s compliance efforts and acts as a resource and solution center concerning NCAA regulations and compliance issues.

The primary functions of the Compliance Department are to coordinate, administer, monitor and verify the accurate and timely completion of NCAA-required procedures and to assist in maintaining institutional compliance with the NCAA, Ivy, ECAC and University rules, as well as reporting any violations of those rules. In addition, the Compliance Department provides educational programming and interpretive support to ensure that all individuals involved with the athletics program fully understand the University’s compliance expectations. All facets of the Brown University Office of Athletic Compliance are overseen and directed by the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.
