Tony Bonvechio joined the Brown Department of Athletics as the Athletics Communications Assistant in August of 2013. Bonvechio serves as the primary contact for women's crew, equestrian, men's and women's fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, women's ice hockey, softball, volleyball, men's and women's water polo and wrestling.
Before coming to Brown, Bonvechio spent two years as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant at Adelphi University. While at Adelphi, Bonvechio served as the primary media contact for field hockey, men's and women's tennis, women's basketball, women's bowling and baseball. He was also a member of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II East Region voting committee.
Prior to Adelphi, Bonvechio worked for one year as the Sports Information Intern at his alma mater, Saint Michael's College, where he assisted with all aspects of the sports information department as well as serving as the primary media contact for men's and women's ice hockey. As an undergraduate, Bonvechio was a two-year member of the Purple Knights baseball team and set the program record for single-season fielding percentage with no errors in 131 chances as the team's primary catcher in 2010.
A native of Newport, Vt., Bonvechio earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from Saint Michael's in 2010 and a Master's degree in exercise science from Adelphi in 2013.
